Amy Lynne Bickle: nurse, mother, wife, daughter and friend, lost her battle with appendix cancer on 01/05/2017 at the age of 44. Amy fought with courage, tenacity and unprecedented determination. Despite chemotherapy, numerous alternative treatments, two drug test trials and even a trip to Mexico looking for successful options, her cancer was too progressed, rare and agressive to beat. Amy chose to be home for her last days surrounded by love and support from her close family and friends. Amy inspired hundreds of people with her cheerful disposition and enormous servant heart. During the last year, people watched in amazement and admiration as she fought so valiantly continuing to participate in the activities, education and healthcare of her children's day to day lives and care for her parents. Being a mom never stopped for Amy. It was, in fact, the children that motivated her to fight all the way to the end. Her exceptional nursing skills & knowledge, her faith in God, and her unwavering determination ultimately gave her more time with her family than any doctor could have predicted. The strength of her mind, body and spirit not only inspired all of those who loved her and were rooting for her but has also become an important part of her legacy. As a nurse, a volunteer to her children's PTO’s, countless work for The Junior League of Arlington and numerous other charities, Amy touched the lives of so many people. This is evidenced by the constant outpouring from the entire community of support, love, generosity and service to the family throughout her illness. Amy was born on May 18, 1972 at Arlington Memorial Hospital to George and Helen Lavender. She graduated Cum Lad from Lamar High School before attending college at the University of North Texas where she met her husband, Braden for the first time. While attending the University of Texas’ school of pharmacy Amy found her lifelong calling of nursing. While accumulating many valuable years of experience in the field, she completed and graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. Her specific talents in nursing and her gentle bedside manner kept her specialized to labor and delivery, OBGYN, as well as helping women with high-risk pregnancies. In her youth Amy enjoyed dancing, playing the piano and hanging out with friends. Her love for animals was undeniable and often resulted in an uncontrollable urge to visit any and ALL drive through wildlife parks as frequently as possible whether the family agreed or not. On August 6, 1994 Amy and Braden were married at Westminister Presbyterian Church in Arlington. They were fortunate enough to add two beautiful children, Kyle and Lindsey, to their family. Amy excelled at being a mother, the family accountant, the family nurse, chauffer for the childrens' many activities, and event planner. She was the official coordinator of all the family vacations and was always thinking of adventures for the family to take. Within the last year, in the midst of the battle, Amy was able to achieve many goals and be a witness to things she had wanted to see her entire life: her children came to know Christ and both were baptized. She was blessed to have two more Christmas and New Years Holiday celebrations with her loved ones. Her relationship with Jesus grew and her marriage became the strongest it has ever been. When asked shortly before she passed, she proudly confessed that she was leaving with no regrets. Amy will be greatly missed, but because of her unwavering faith we know we shall see her again. She will be remembered with a service on Saturday, Jan. 7 at 12:00 noon at Fielder Road Church. Visitation prior to the service at 11:00 - 12:00 noon. Interment will be at Shannon Rose Hill Memorial Park, 7301 E Lancaster Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76112 Amy is survived by her husband; Braden Bickle, her children; Kyle and Lindsey and her parents; George and Helen Lavender.
