Erwood Jordan

Erwood G. Jordan, 95, beloved husband of Catherine (Palmer) Jordan, of Holiday Court, Wakefield, passed away at The Westerly Hospital on Thursday, January 12, 2017. Born in Hope Valley, RI, he was a son of the late Norman Jordan and Lexcia Jordan Krus. Erwood worked in customer service for Narragansett Electric for many years. He proudly served in the US Navy during WWII, earning an Honorable discharge with a Good Conduct Medal. He was known as a very accomplished woodworker who also enjoyed yardwork, hunting and fishing. He leaves his wife Catherine; two daughters, Gayle A. Birchell of Westerly and Dayle A. Caswell of Pawcatuck; as well as five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Erwood was predeceased by his daughter Heather J. Clachrie; and three brothers, Norman and Merrill Jordan and Philip Krus. Visiting hours are omitted. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service with Full Military Honors on Wednesday, Jan. 18th at 11:30am at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 301 South County Trail, Exeter. Attendees are asked to arrive outside the Main Office building15 minutes prior to the service. Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly is in charge of the arrangements.
