Violet May Michael, 87, of New Castle, passed away the morning of December 23, 2016 at UPMC Jameson Hospital. Born on March 4, 1929 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Swartz Diller. Surviving at home is her beloved husband of 67 years, Donald R. Michael, whom she married on November 5, 1949.

Violet was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, crocheting, doing puzzles, and using the computer to play games and go on Facebook.

In addition to her husband, Violet is survived by her children, Mike M. Michael of Geauga, OH, David S. Michael, and Lee J. Michael, both of New Castle; sister, Ruth Alfredo of Hermitage, PA; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
