Theresa M. Parente Obituary

Theresa Parente, 84, of New Castle, PA, formerly of Hillsville, PA, passed away the evening of January 14, 2017 at Jameson Care Center. She was born May 11, 1932 in New Castle, Pennsylvania the daughter of Domenick and Flora (Dardes) Diana; they precede her in death. She was married to John A. Parente who preceded her in death.


Mrs. Parente was a member of St. Vitus Catholic Church. She loved to dance and participate in activities with her friends and family. She worked as a secretary for Canan Insurance in New Castle, PA retiring after 56 years.


She is survived by her first husband, Norman N. De Gennaro of New Castle; one son, Norman C. De Gennaro of San Marcos, CA; a step-son, John Parente Jr. of New Castle, PA; three brothers, Donald (Sandy) Diana of Bessemer, PA, Nicholas (Edna) Diana of Edinburg, PA and Frank (Mary Alice) Diana of Zelienople, PA; three sisters, Kathleen (Joe) Ramun of Struthers, OH, Georgina (Kenny) Smith of Bessemer, PA, and Toni Lynn (John) Davis of Poland, OH; and two grandchildren, Nicholas and Lauren.


In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters Annette Annichine, Shirley Ascione, Grace Grilli, and Virginia Sainato.


Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Ed & Don Decarbo Funeral Home, 3000 Wilmington Road. A private service conducted by Father Joseph Codori will be held at the funeral home prior to entombment at Parkside Mausoleum.
