Raymond E. Mellott Obituary

Raymond E. Mellott II, 39, of Martin Street, has been called to be with Our Beloved Lord and Savior on January 6, 2017. He is now resting in peace in Heaven’s Home. He was born on August 2, 1977 to Diane Booth Mellott Hall of New Castle, PA and the late Raymond E. Mellott Sr.


When Raymond was five years of age, his dream was to be a school bus driver when he grew up. He fulfilled his dream by working at the Neshannock School District as a school bus driver and school bus trainer. He worked formerly for the New Castle School District as a school bus driver and school bus trainer for First Student. He enjoyed taking the students to and from school for many years.


His next achievement was becoming an EMT. He was employed by Noga Ambulance Service Inc. as an EMT. He was a volunteer EMT and firefighter for Hickor Township Fire Department. He just recently enrolled his son Cameron Mellott, 14, into the Hickory Fire Department to become a Junior Firefighter.


Raymond is survived by his three children, Austin Greathouse, 18, Madison Mellott, 15, and Cameron Mellott, 14. Raymond loved and enjoyed his children. They became involved with many activities as the children were growing up.


He had attended First United Brethren Church where he became Saved and Baptized in Neshannock Creek by Reverend David Bell. He loved serving his Lord Jesus.


In addition to his mother and children, Raymond is survived by his brother, Tyler Mellott of New Castle, and stepfather, Hugh Hall of New Castle. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert (Mary Ruth) Mellott and Mr. and Mrs. Don (Alice) Booth.


The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:00pm to 1:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S Mill St. Memorial services will be conducted Wednesday at 1:00pm at the funeral home, officiated by Reverend David Bell of First United Brethren Church.


Interment will take place in Parkside Cemetery.
