Peggy Lu Doerr
<p>Peggy Lu Doerr, 73, of Edinburg, PA, went to be with her Lord the evening of December 28, 2016 at her residence. </p><p><br></p><p>Born on May 1, 1943 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Cunningham and Dorothy Payne Weakley. She also was preceded in death by her stepfather, Floyd Weakley. On December 22, 1979, she married her husband, George Doerr, and the two of them spent 26 years together until he preceded her in death on August 21, 2006. </p><p><br></p><p>Peggy retired as a packer from Waldman’s Meats. A devoted Christian, she attended Shenango Christian Church and Church of Genesis. She will always be remembered as a very loving and generous mother, grandmother, and sister who was helpful to anyone she met. </p><p><br></p><p>Peggy is survived by her children, Merry Jo Portell of Panama City Beach, FL, Myke Mezza of Beaver Falls, PA, and Douglas Ehrenberg of New Castle; brother, Lewis Cunningham of Millsboro, DE; step-brother, Gary Cunningham of New Castle; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Cameron M. Mezza, and step-sister, Marcia Cunningham. </p><p><br></p><p>Honoring her wishes, there are no calling hours. Memorial services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00pm at Church of Genesis 303 North Cedar Street.</p>Obituary
