Lucille E. Houk

<p>Lucille E. Houk, 90, of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of December 22, 2016 at Haven Convalescent Home. Born on April 6, 1926 in Lyndora, PA, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Helen Slimack Adamsky. On August 25, 1956, she married her beloved husband, Charles Houk, and the two of them spent 27 wonderful years together until he preceded her in death in 1983. </p><p><br></p><p>Lucille was a member of the former People’s Christian Missionary Alliance Church. She enjoyed cooking and baking, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. </p><p><br></p><p>Lucille is survived by her children, Deborah Cousins and husband Thomas of Bennettsville, SC, Diane Hofius of Wexford, PA, Donna Rhodes and husband Leroy of Myrtle Beach, SC, Denise Monaco and husband Joseph of New Castle, and Darlene Young and husband Dale of Aliquippa, PA; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her nine brothers and sisters. </p><p><br></p><p>Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd. Services will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00am at the funeral home, officiated by Reverend Brian Miller. </p><p><br></p><p>Interment will take place in Graceland Cemetery. </p>
