Chester M. Flamino Obituary

Chester M. Flamino, 91, of New Castle passed away the afternoon of January 6, 2017 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.


Born in New Castle on March 7, 1925, Chester was the son of the late Domenic and Yolanda Colecchi Flamino. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of over sixty eight years, the former Connie Campoli, whom he married on July 14, 1948.


Chester was a member of Mary, Mother of Hope Parish. Chester was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp and proudly served his country during WWII. He had worked as a self employed truck driver and eventually retired from the Russell Trucking Company. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 261.He enjoyed gardening, wine making and completing puzzle books. Chester was a diligent worker, continuing to work some part time jobs after his retirement.


In addition to his wife, Connie, Chester is survived by his four children, Christine Basile and her husband Peter of New Castle; Chester Flamino and his wife Angela of New Castle; Gregory Flamino of Conneaut Lake, PA; Lori Sinibaldi and her husband Bob of New Castle; his brothers, David Flamino of New Castle; Paul Flamino and his wife Virginia of Odenton, MD; Walter Flamino and his wife Rita of New Castle; his sisters, Margaret Flamino of New Castle; Corinne Coté of St. Pete Beach, FL; Mary Lou Melder and her husband Robert of New Castle; a close friend who was like a son to him, Albert Rotz of New Castle; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.


He is preceded in death by his parents and his son, Jeffrey Flamino, his brothers, Brady, Roger and Arthur Flamino and his sister, Christine Bordonaro.


Visitation is Tuesday from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd.


A Blessing Service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:00AM, officiated by Father William Siple. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform military rites at the funeral home.


Burial will take place in the veteran section of Parkside Cemetery.
