Matthew J. Burton KANE Matthew John Burton, 31, of 39 Kentucky Ave., James City, passed away Thursday (November 10, 2016) as a result of an accident at work. Born August 27, 1985, in Kane, he was a son of Paul and Cheryl Lican Burton. Matt was employed by Chittester Excavating. He was a graduate of Penn State University and a member of the Hi-La Sportsman's Club. Surviving, in addition to his parents, are a brother, Paul Burton III of James City; a sister, Sara (Steve) Timpano of Pittsburgh; his maternal grandparents, John and Shirley Lican of James City; two aunts, Sandy (Jim) Kane of Kane and Lynda Nelson of Avon, IN; and two uncles, Steve Burton and John (Linda) Lican, both of James City. He was preceded in death by a brother, Scott Charles Burton; and his paternal grandparents, Paul and Frances "Chatch" Burton. Friends will be received Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. where a funeral service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday with the Rev. Philip Pinczewski, pastor of St. Callistus Church, officiating. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Online condolences can be expressed at www.cummingsfh.com.
