Franklyn K. Morris KANE The Rev. Franklyn K. Morris of 106 S. Fraley Street, Kane, and Lighthouse Point., Florida, passed away Monday (November 28, 2016) at Boca Raton Regional Hospital in Florida after an extended illness. Born May 31, 1931, in Louisville, KY, he was a son of the late James and Grace Woertz Morris. On August 5, 1961, in Johnstown, he married Carolyn Wagenbach Morris who survives. Rev. Morris was a member of Lebanon Lutheran Church in Kanesholm. He was a graduate of the University of Louisville and Gettysburg Seminary and received his Master's Degree in Christian Education from the University of Pittsburgh. He served parishes in Bridgeport, OH, Pittsburgh and Kane, PA. He also was interim pastor in Germania, Wilcox, PA, Lantana and Ft. Lauderdale, FL. For 40 years Rev. Morris was owner of several wholesale travel companies specializing in ecumenical travel and continuing education abroad. Rev. Morris and his family travelled extensively internationally for both business and pleasure. He also enjoyed gardening and at one point in his life had a large vegetable and flower garden. Surviving, in addition to his wife, Carolyn, are two daughters, Elisabeth (Robert) Mulcahy and Stephanie Voris, both of Florida; his grandson, Stephan Voris; a niece Susan Holbert; a nephew Gerald Morris; and a sister-in-law Elvie Wagenbach. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Harold Morris; one niece; and one nephew. Friends will be received Friday from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. in Kane. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday at St. John's Episcopal Church in Kane with the Rev. David Pflieger, Rector at St. John's and the Rev. Theodore Benson , pastor of Lebanon Lutheran Church, co-officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Lutheran Cemetery.
