Virginia Shields

Virginia F. Shields, 76, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Chambersburg Hospital. Born June 22, 1940 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late William and Martha Timmons Hepfer. She retired in 2014 from Johnson Controls in Waynesboro where she had worked for more than twenty years. Early in her life she had been employed at Waynesboro Manufacturing and then at Virginia Fay Fashions in Waynesboro. She was a member of the Scotland United Methodist Church. At one time she liked working with ceramics and more recently enjoyed playing bingo, watching games shows, and knitting. Her husband, Richard W. Shields, whom she married in August of 1956, preceded her in death on January 2, 2003. She is survived by two sons, Greg L. Shields of Orrtanna and Gary L. Shields and wife Jamie of Fayetteville; and five grandchildren, Katelyn and Kaycee Shields, Damion Shields, Steven Reasner, and Candice Bailey. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, William Hepfer. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Thursday, January 12, 2017 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Murray Stevens will officiate. Interment will follow at Norland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:30-11:30 AM Thursday at the funeral home.
