Martha Ross Obituary

Martha M. Reasner Ross, 101, a resident at Menno Haven in Chambersburg and formerly of Hampton in Adams County, passed away Thursday afternoon, December 29, 2016 at Menno Haven. Born June 8, 1915 in Fayetteville, she was a daughter of the late David B., Sr. and Frances Boggs Reasner. Martha had worked as a seamstress at several factories in the Gettysburg area during her lifetime. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Fayetteville. As a Centenarian, Martha had seen many changes in her lifetime. She recently spent time with her niece, shopping on her cellular phone, yet she fondly remembered time spent with her great-grandfather who had served in the cavalry during the Civil War. Her husband, Raymond R. Ross, preceded her in death on February 5, 2001. The last of her immediate family, she is survived by a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Freeze and Alice Stymiest; and four brothers, David B. Reasner, Jr., Edward H. Reasner, William Reasner, and Hammett Reasner. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 4, 2017 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Suzanne Elliott will officiate. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg, PA. Friends will be received from 9:30 AM until services begin at 10:00 AM Wednesday at the funeral home.
