Mary Catherine “Cay” Harris, 85 Mary Catherine “Cay” Harris, 85, of Ashland passed away, Wednesday, January 11, 2017 in Brethren Care Village. She was born on January 4, 1932 in Pontiac, Michigan to the late William and Rvarilla L. (nee Wiswell) Dafoe. Cay graduated from Pontiac Central High School, Class of 1950. Following her graduation, she enlisted in the United States Air Force. She married Donald. H. Paulson on March 22, 1951 who proceeds her in death on January 22, 1983. Cay retired in 1987 after many years of service as a social worker for Ashland County Job and Family Services. After Don’s death she remarried on July 3, 1987 to Billy M. Harris. She was a devoted member of the Grace Brethren Church, where she was actively involved in bible studies. Cay enjoyed spending time with friends playing Bridge. She was also a member of the Garden Club in Ashland. Cay is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Bill Harris of Ashland; seven children; four step children; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one sister and brother-in-law. In addition to her parents and her first husband, Donald; Cay is preceded in death by one brother. A memorial service celebrating Cay’s life will be held, Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Grace Brethren Church, 1144 West Main Street, Ashland, Ohio 44805 with Reverend Dan Allan officiating. Interment will follow in the Ashland Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday, January 25, 2017 in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice in Cay’s name.
