David Ray Landis, 62 David Ray Landis, 62, of Ashland passed away, early Saturday morning, January 7, 2017 in Centerburg Respiratory and Specialty Rehabilitation Center in Centerburg, Ohio after a courageous 3 year battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. He was born in Ashland, Ohio on October 1, 1954 on his father’s birthday to Raymond Kohler Landis and Beulah Kiser Landis. David worked several years at Plymouth Locomotive in Plymouth, Ohio and retired from MTD in Willard, Ohio. David had many interests. He loved all kinds of sports especially the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Cavaliers. He enjoyed any kind of racing especially NASCAR and Drag Racing with many trips to the Norwalk Speedway. David had a passion for music and liked classic rock and enjoyed going to Rock & Roll concerts. He enjoyed going to the movies and eating out at his favorite restaurants. David had a 1974 Kawasaki motorcycle he loved riding also. He attended Mansfield Baptist Temple and was a Christian with a very caring soul. He will be greatly missed. David is survived by one son, Jeremy Landis of Reno, Nevada; sisters, Emily (Ernie) Castelucci of Ashland and Rita (Rod) Henningsen of Fargo, North Dakota; brothers, John (Marty) Landis of Adario, and Larry (Anita) Landis of Noblesville, Indiana; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and former wife, Pam (Mackey) Landis. A memorial service for David will be held, Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Kurtz officiating. Interment will be in the Adario Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the excellent caregivers at Centerburg and Heartland Hospice who shared there kindness and love with David and his family. Rest in Peace, dear brother. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Drive, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
