Doctor Stanley Quay Semple... The world lost a beautiful man, husband, father, grandfather, serviceman and friend, with the passing of Stanley Quay Semple. He was relieved of his pain at New York Presbyterian Hospital in Queens, NY on December 18, 2016. Stanley Q. Semple, was born to George and Carrie Semple on April 4, 1929 in Staten Island, NY., where he was raised. Stanley was a military man, who joined the Army in 1951. After serving in the Korean War, Vietnam War, and receiving a multitude of medals and awards, he retired with an honorable discharge as Major Stanley Semple. He went on to become a court officer, and later was deputized in the Circuit Court. Stanley was an accomplished lecturer and military historian. Some of his writings: "A treatise on the African American participation", "The Buffalo Soldiers in the West and the Spanish American 1898 in Cuba", "World War I in Europe 1918", were widely read. His published manuscript, "We look like men", the history of the 25th United States Colored Corp during the civil war. Stanley and Eunice were introduced to each other after both had been widowed. Shortly after, they married and shared a deep relationship and love for God. Stanley said yes to God and joined his wife at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, where he was baptized and served. He was later ordained a Deacon at Twine Memorial Holiness Church in Portsmouth, VA., where they resided for over 7 years after their marriage. There he taught Sunday school. Stanley received his Doctorate in Theology, returned to NY and continued to serve God until he became ill. He leaves to mourn his wife Eunice Semple, 10 children, his grandchildren, his step children Angelo Hunt, Hannah Hunt , Valencia Hunt Valencia and a host of friends and family.
