Thank you for being here today. I would like thank our family and friends for pulling together in this time of sorrow. The conversations, the laughs, and hugs have kept us strong during this time of grief. Desmond Alexander Foster. What did you call him? Brother, cousin, son, uncle, Perry, Preps, Red Man and Pilot. He was called so many things by so many people. I was lucky enough to call him my cousin. We grew up together from basic school, to primary school to high school in Jamaica. It was Richie and Perry (I remember those days). The void create by the sudden death of our family member is hard to grasp. We will miss the conversations. Cause we all know that Perry was a talker. He was always talking to someone on the phone, to family members or friends. In Jamaica, we say, “him can chat!!!!” Desmond (Perry) was born to parents David Foster and Philicia Creary on November 11th, 1967, in Kingston, Jamaica. He grew up around a large family. We were always around uncles, aunts, and cousins. He was Uncle David’s and Philicia’s first child. He leaves behind his siblings Jamie, Junior, Ray, Michelle Foster, Michelle Popp and Jenice. There are numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Many of whom are her today in the audience. As I look around in the audience, I can see some of my uncles and aunts that have helped to raise Perry. Uncle Bas, Aunt Juney, Mama, and Uncle Ben. Perry you have gone on to heaven. Help Aunt Lus, Aunt Cherry and Uncle Dicky watch over the family with grandmother, grandfather and Mark. Perry I remember those times going to Fetes in Jamaica. Taking those long car rides to the country, drinking coconut water and swimming in the river. Those were some good days my cousin. Who can forget the diesel rides to the country! What type of man was Desmond? He was a good man. He was the most honest person I have ever known. He was the kind of person that if he found money on the street, he would want to return it to the rightful owner. He was a good man He was a loving brother. He was a good uncle. He was a great friend. He was my closet cousin. Family members are not the only one hurting here with Desmond’s death. I’ve reached out to some of his friends and from our conversations, Desmond will be dearly missed. They say time heals all wounds, but today I can tell you that’s not true. I feel the same pain in my heart that I felt on that Tuesday morning when I found out you were gone.
