John M. Baker 1949-2016 Cameron, Missouri- John Michael Baker, 67, Cameron passed away on October 31, 2016. John was born on October 6, 1949 in Kingston, Missouri to Eldon John and Marjorie (McClain) Baker. John was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Cody Michael Wilson. He was a 1967 graduate of Cameron High School and earned a Bachelor of Engineering Degree from the University of Missouri. He worked as a civil engineer for the State of Missouri in the Soil and Water Conservation Department. John was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during Vietnam with tours in Thailand and Germany. Survivors: 2 sisters, Shirley (Lester) Skouby, Cameron and Cora Blackwell, Kansas City, MO; nieces and nephews, Bobby (Brandy) Skouby, David (Heather) Skouby, Lisa Skouby, Tim Blackwell, Betsey (Preston) Seymour; great-nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews and many, many friends. A Celebration of Life service: 4:00 PM, Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Kamler’s 105 E. Grand, Cameron, Missouri. Memorial donations to the Missouri Veteran’s Assistance League, Cameron. Mr. Baker has been cremated under the direction of Poland-Thompson Funeral Home, Cameron, MO. Inurnment at a later date in Hopewell Cemetery, Cowgill, MO. Online condolences: www.polandthompson.com.
