PHOTO Mavis L. Dickinson East Millinocket and Millinocket – Mavis L. Dickinson, 78, wife of the late Clovis O. Dickinson, Sr., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Millinocket. She was born February 2, 1938 in New Sweden, the daughter of Levi and Ruth (Johanson) Landeen. Mavis grew up New Sweden, and was very proud of her Swedish heritage. She moved to East Millinocket after being married, and spent most of her adult life there, raising her family. In recent years, she moved to Millinocket, where she was a resident at the time of her death. She loved spending time with her family and friends, and spent every meal meeting friends and family eating out at various area restaurants. She was a faithful and dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Millinocket, and rarely missed any event at the church. She enjoyed travelling, dancing, and reading books. Her family will miss her regular phone calls and discussions, which always ended in her proclaiming “Jag alskar dig”, which is “I Love You” in Swedish. Mavis is survived by seven children, Sheldon Dickinson and his wife Lee, Clovis “Cubby” Dickinson, Jr., Roxane Dickinson, Kurt Dickinson and his wife Patricia, Chris Dickinson and his wife Joann, Cecilia Boutaugh and her husband Jeff, and Diane Tedford and her husband Joe; fourteen grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; two siblings, Alan Landeen and his wife Paulette, and Lorena Michaud and her husband Reynold; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. She will also be missed by special friends Dylan Johnston, Natalie Brown, Janet Brown, and Barbara Bonderson. In addition to her husband, Mavis was predeceased by two children, Barry and Brett, a grandson, Matthew Dickinson, and a great grandson, Josiah Dickinson. Memorial services will be held 1 P.M. Friday, December 30 at the First Baptist Church of Millinocket, 297 Penobscot Avenue, Millinocket, with the Rev. Tim Bossie, pastor, officiating. Spring interment will be at the East Millinocket Cemetery. Gifts in memory of Mavis may be sent to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 51Blossom Street , Boston, MA 02114. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, Millinocket.
