Leslie J. Anderson the son of Nels and Ida (Luscombe) Anderson was born on February 20, 1925 on the home place in Iowa Lake Township, Dolliver, Iowa. He died on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at the Rosewood Manor in Estherville, Iowa at the age of 91.

He attended Iowa Lakes District Country School. He worked with his father on the farm putting in the crops together. Leslie entered the United States Army serving in Germany as a surgical technician. He was honorably discharged on July 14, 1946 from the Army.

On December 17, 1947 Leslie was united in marriage to Cristina Blom at a Lutheran Church in Jackson, Minnesota. He farmed with his wife for 45 years. Leslie enjoyed being with his children and grandchildren. He loved playing cards, horseshoes and aggravation.

He was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church.

Left to cherish Leslie's memory are his sons, Dave Anderson and his wife, Carol of Armstrong and Dale Anderson of Armstrong; daughters, Donna Grotte and her husband, Dean of Fairmont, Minnesota; and Sharon Wilkerson of Estherville; seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandson.

Preceding Leslie in death were his wife, Cristina; his parents; one great grandson; three sisters, Vera Fischer, Velma Anderson, and Mae Larson; five brothers, Emmett, Harold, Ervin, Orville and infant brother, Marion.
