Doris Barton Mecham

Doris Elizabeth Davis was born August 11, 1915, to parents Joseph and Jennie Davis. She died November 8. 2016. She was 101 years old. Doris' life began in a log cabin located east of Carey, ID in a place known as Midway. She attended school in a one-room school house in Fish Creek Canyon and later graduated from Carev High School. On June 15,1937, Doris married John Mac Barton. To this union were born, John (Leta), Barbara (Blaine), Mary Lee (Jim) and Vicki (Ted). Several years after Mac's death in 1970, Doris married Cloyd Mecham. He died in 1982. Doris' life was defined by all the things she loved and treasured: her family, friends, home, yard and flowers. She felt most at home in Fish Creek's hills and meadows. She had a passion for travel, painting oil and water color pictures as well as possessing enormous energy for hard work. And, devotion always, to her Church. Preceding Doris in death are her parents, 3 brothers and 1 sister, husband Mac, husband Cloyd, and daughter Barbara. Surviving are 3 children,18 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 19, at the Carey LDS Church. Interment will follow at Carey Cemetery.
