Ric Morin Obituary

Ric J. Morin, 83, formerly of Meriden, husband of M. Irene (Corriveau) Morin, died on Sunday January 1, 2017 at a care facility in Keene, NH after an accident. Born in Grand Falls, New Brunswick on January 9, 1933, he was the son of Adrien and Elizabeth Morin. He left Canada at the age of 16 and found his way to Meriden where he became a naturalized citizen. He started working at Talcott Screw Machine in Meriden as a laborer and eventually moved into an ownership position. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved working on his property in Marlow, NH. He also loved fishing and would pick up a pole whenever invited to drop a line. He and Irene also wintered in their home in Zephyrhills, Florida. Mr. Morin is survived by his 2 sons, Gary Morin and his wife Diana of Largo, Florida; Donald Morin of Marlow, New Hampshire; 10 grandchildren; 8 greatgrandchildren; 2 brothers Gilbert Morin and Guy Morin, and 2 sisters Diane Carew and Evyette Huard. He was predeceased by son Paul R. Morin; 7 siblings, Angele Page, Oneil, Cyprien, Eveline Pherrine, Aline Ruset, Marie Mai Lagace & Solange Ouellette. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 10 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St. Meriden and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Laurent Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Calling hours will be on January 5th at the funeral home from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in St. Laurent Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
