Luz “Lucy” Elenia Ortiz, 70, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 after a lengthy illness. Born in Puerto Rico on April 15, 1946, she was the daughter of Juanita and the late Oscar Ortiz.Sr. She lived in Meriden for most of her life and had graduated from the Jane Addams Vocational High School in the Bronx. She was a member of the Alpha and Omega Christian Church. She loved the Lord and talking about God. She enjoyed walking and fellowshipping with people. She is survived by one brother, Oscar Ortiz Jr. and his wife, Eulalia Ortiz. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and by her uncle, Julio Matos and his family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service to be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 10 am at Alpha and Omega Christian Church, 134 Springdale Avenue, Meriden. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the church prior to the service from 8:30 to 10 am.
