Elizabeth (Betty) (Hogan) Ferretti, 89, wife of the late Domenic A. Ferretti, died January 12 after a brief illness. Born in Meriden on September 7, 1927, she was the daughter of the late James and Vera (Cook) Hogan and resided in Middlefield for the past 63 years. Elizabeth is survived by four sons, Peter and Steven Ferretti of Middlefield, James Ferretti of Jacksonville, FL, and Andrew Ferretti of Placitas, NM; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Lisa and Jeffrey Foley of Broadalbin, NY, Christine and Edward O'Connor of Middlefield, and Jane Ferretti of Middlefield; a sister Jane Stannard of Portland, CT; nine grandchildren, Owen and Neil Foley, Colleen Muth and her husband Lee, Kevin O'Connor and his fiancé Chana Rich, Talal and Sultan Ferretti, Yasmin Tucker and her husband George, Keegan and Rowen Ferretti. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Elizabeth was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Christine Ferretti of Placitas, NM and Gail Kaczenski of Middlefield, CT, whom she considered a daughter. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Wednesday, January 18, at 11 a.m. in St. Colman Church, 145 Hubbard Street, Middlefield. Burial will be in Middlefield Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Elizabeth’s memory may be made to the Middlefield Community Services Council, 405 Main St, Middlefield, CT 06455.
