Letta Cocanougher

Letta Cocanougher, 84, of Pottsville, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016, at the Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home in Russellville, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born May 24, 1932, in Tahoka, Texas, daughter of the late Eugene and Inez Davis Roland. She was a devout Christian, and although she was unable to attend church services in her later years, she shared the word of the Lord through online ministry for special needs children and people in need. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Verna Lois Roland. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Bill Cocanougher; son, Danny Cocanougher; daughter, Teresa and husband John Newell; 6 grandchildren, Kirk Cocanougher and wife Amber, Shawn Clayton and husband Bronson, Jonathan Newell and wife Haley, Eric Cocanougher, Jacquelyn Cocanougher, and Brett Cocanougher; 11 great-grandchildren, Alexis Clayton, Kaya, Lucas, Andrew, Emma, and Amelia Cocanougher, Jaden and Sawyer Newell, and Connor, Carter, and Caden Fangrow; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services are 3:00 PM, Wednesday, November 16, at Pottsville First Baptist Church with Bro. Jim Huffman and Bro. Blake Herren officiating. Burial is in Pisgah Cemetery under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation is from 6:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday, at Lemley Chapel. Pallbearers are Kirk Cocanougher, Jonathan Newell, Brett Cocanougher, John Newell, Bronson Clayton, and Darrel Williams. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Kelly Traylor, Beverly Ingram, Dr. Saul, and the nurses and staff of Care IV and the Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her honor may be made to the Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home, 2405 E. Parkway, Suite 3, Russellville, AR, 72802, or to the Pottsville First Baptist Church, P.O.
