PEEL, Elmore Willis - It is with great sadness that the family of Elmore announce his passing in his 79th year after a brave & hard fought battle with ALS. Elmore passed away at home on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 with his wife, daughter & granddaughter by his side. Elmore was the 1 and only love of Evelyn (nee Corner) his wife of over 46yrs. He was the treasured father of his only daughter Amber (Jason) and he was the proud papa of his pride & joy granddaughter Terryn. Elmore was pre deceased by his parents Lloyd & Christina Peel (nee Wires). Loving brother of Joan Amelia and her husband George of Glendon Alberta, Sharon Lee and her husband Tom of Bexley. Missed by sister-in-law Doris Slute of Raglan and sister-in-law Laurine Peel of Fenelon Falls. Elmore is also predeceased by his sister Evelyn Peel, brother Melvin Peel, brother Jack Peel & his wife Elsie, sister Margaret Kovack & her husband Tim. Also by brother-in-law Cecil Slute and brother-in-law Harold Corner & his wife Ruth. He will be missed by many cherished nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews and great-great nieces & nephews. The family invites friends and family to call at Stoddart Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 24 Mill Street, Lindsay (705-324-3205) on Monday, January 16, 2017 from 7-9pm. An additional wake will be held on Tuesday, January 17 at Pioneer Baptist Church, 7553 Hwy 35 North, Norland from 1:00 p.m. until time of funeral service in the church at 2pm. Interment later at Lake View Cemetery, Kirkfield. If desired, memorial donations can be made payable to Evelyn Peel as the family is going to have those funds set aside and be available to other ALS patients unable to afford much needed equipment.
