It is with deep sadness we announce that Arthur passed away peacefully on the morning of Saturday, December 31, 2016 surrounded by loved ones. Art was born in Brockville to Lyla (Grice) and the late Ross LaBelle. Deeply missed by his wife Mary-Ellen (Sam) Major; step daughter Trish Tye and her husband Jamie Tye; his grandchildren Mitch Tye, Kayleigh Wade, Jada Major and Davon Gregory-Garand; his sisters Judy Einfeld (Rudi) and Linda Howe; his brother Robert LaBelle; a sister-in-law Gwen Duffy; his nephew Jason Duffy and many other nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brothers Larry and Eddie LaBelle; a brother-in-law Brian Heaton; his son Jesse Major and his mother-in-law Leona Major.

Art will be fondly remembered by his broad circle of family, friends and co-workers at Eastern Independent Telecom for his warm and generous heart, his deep love for his children and family and his fondness for his grandchildren that was clear to all who knew him.

The family would like to convey their deepest appreciation to the staff at BGH 2nd floor and the KGH Kidd 2 ICU nursing staff who cared for Art and our family in his final days.

A celebration of Art's life will be held on Saturday, January 28th, 2017 from 3-7pm at Sam's Brass Racks, 24 Perth Street, Brockville. Private cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Irvine Funeral Home, 4 James Street East, Brockville. Donations to the charity of your choice will be gratefully acknowledged.
