GOUDEY, Ruth Bernice – age 86, of Pleasant Valley, Yarmouth Co, N.S, passed away in Yarmouth Regional Hospital on January 4, 2017. Born in Pleasant Valley on March 11, 1930 she was a daughter to the late Stewart and Annie (Hurlburt) Prime. Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother who loved her family dearly. She was a foster mother her whole life and took great pride in her family. In her spare time she loved her flower gardens. She is survived by her daughter, Carol (Dudley) Saulnier; son, Gary Goudey (Vivian); foster children, Norman Smith and Anthony Smith; sister, Lillian Goudey; adopted sister, Betty Bethune grandchildren, Ruth, Maria, Kim, Laura, Karl, Scott, Kevin, Jesse, Kory; 13 great grandchildren and 6 great –great grandchildren . Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband ,Jesse; daughter, Patricia Deveau; son, Carl Goudey; brother, Roy Prime; and great grandson Dominique. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 8, 2017 from 1-2 p.m. with a funeral following a 2 P.M. all in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kevin Myers officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers donations in memory can be made to the N.S. Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
