Ida Mullett Gander, Newfoundland and Labrador Obituary

Ida Mullett

Mullett Ida Daisy Levinia 1943 - 2016 Born in Deer Lake in the Fall of 1943, Ida passed peacefully away on December 7, 2016 at the age of 73 with family by her side. A woman of many strong opinions and a great strength of character, her many health challenges finally got the best of her and she realized that it made no sense to fight on. Her tenacity and determination until Wednesday night serving as inspiration to all who knew her. A true Newfoundland vagabond and world traveller, Ida spent her life sending people on vacations of a lifetime and making dreams come true. She understood that “true wealth” was what was inside of her. Her thoughts, knowledge, feelings and love made her one of the richest people in town. Ida took great pleasure in her many friendships in Gander, in Newfoundland and all over the world. Her kind thoughts, kind gestures and expressions of kindness were fundamental to her character and her motivation to give back was vested in genuine concern for her family and community. Leading by example of giving back more than you take out, she volunteered at the local food bank and with the Salvation Army. Pre-deceased by her husband Max (2006) and brother Cyril (1973) (Mary). She is survived by her sons: Doug (Lori), Mark (Marsha); her brother Bernard (Eva); sisters: Myrtle (Ambrose), Ada (Jack), and four grandchildren: Josh, Kyle, Abby and Alex. Family will be receiving friends at Stacey’s Funeral Home, 60 Roe Ave, Gander on Saturday December 10th, 2016 between the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A private celebration of her life will take place from Stacey’s Funeral Home on Sunday December 11, 2016 at 2 p.m. officiated by Captains Sheldon & Ashley Bungay with interment to follow at all Saints Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, Ida loved flowers so flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made in Ida’s memory to the Diabetes Association, Heart & Stroke Foundation or The Canadian Cancer Society whom all factored into her life or simply raise a glass in her honor with happy thoughts, please do.
